  • The Factory on 5th is now offering working studio & retail display space for 12 artists, artisans & creative makers on a day rental basis. 

    $20
    Dedicated 7x4’ static location
    Gridwall display panel (2 options)
    First-come, first-served ("FCFS") use of  gridwall merchandising accessories, folding tables, & chairs
    Respectful, tidy & considerate use of shared work tables, production areas, chill-out spots, refrigerator, restroom &etc

    The Factory on 5th welcomes with open arms creative souls of every sort and we passionately support emerging visual & performing artists, creators of marginalized & gentrifying communities, and especially those of us out there proudly producing our thing that’s just too strange to ever be mainstream 

    We get it, creative business is a difficult business model. We hear a lot of people describe creative business as “a labor of love” and we don’t really know if the Factory is a labor of love or what but if anyone wants to talk it out we’ll pour a drink and listen to Nazareth on the dj deck crooning “Love Hurts” lol

    As we’ve looked at the daunting difficulties faced by creatives attempting to earn a living income in the ATX alongside the amazing opportunities provided by the Factory on 5th, we settled on this concept of day rental for studio and retail space. 

    What you won’t get: A lease commitment (affordable housing is already expensive enough)

    What you will get: A vibrant community of creatives located in the cultural heart of East ATX, a 5-star rated Taqueria, weekly art classes with a diverse attendance base, and consistent live music, theatre & dance events with audiences ranging in size from 50-250.

    RATE
    $20 per day, regardless of access hours or event programming

    ACCESS HOURS
    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 7a-9p
    Thursday: 7a-6p *Option to contribute an additional $10 to participate in the open session from 7p-10p & load out by 11p
    Sunday: 7a-3p

    EVENT ACCESS
    No additional cost on top of $20 day rate for access to large crowds with option to stay through the end of event (typically 2a)
    If electing not to stay for the event access ends at 6p
    If electing to stay for the event the location of your placement within the space will be specifically designated by the Factory, likely requiring relocation including the potential to be located under the exterior patio and is not negotiable. After relocation prior to the event no further production work is allowed, only retail sales & services

    WHAT ELSE?
    Looking to stay multiple? Access hours remain the same but loading out each day is not required if there are no conflicting events

    Need to bounce out but don’t want to miss a sale? The Factory will conduct sales on your behalf at a commission rate of 35%. Vendor onboarding is required for this option and must be scheduled in advance
