998 I formed the Riot Bread Art Collective consisting of 30 visual artists, musicians, poets, punks, dancers and philosophers. After disbanding in 2001 to pursue the energies of our youth I exhibited art under the name Riot Bread in Texas, California, and Florida. Today, Riot Bread Enterprises, LLC is a company I operate with my business partner, Kara Rozzi, engaged in the diverse array of visual and performing arts in Austin, Texas.
🦩 Our venue, the Factory on 5th, is a 1948 hot-pink quonset hut on East 5th St. We maintain a commercial lease, rehabilitate the building to meet City code & permitting requirements, and complete infrastructure improvements.
🦩 For the last 22 months we have consistently facilitated two or more art workshops per week drawing an average audience size of one to two dozen participants.
🦩 We organize our own special events to include visual art & live music performance while also writing contracts for outside groups to rent the entirety of the space for events, such as theater, ballet, and live music performance.
🦩 We maintain a food truck sublease agreement specializing in authentic Mexican cuisine and have previously written and maintained sublease agreements with various arts, events, and maker-market organizations.
🦩 We utilize Consignment Agreements to facilitate sales of locally produced fine art alongside my own visual art.
🦩 While open to engagement with all creative individuals, we place special emphasis on emerging artists, artists of marginalized communities, and creatives local to Central Texas.
